Ken and I had a close call with a dry glory. I had just unstaked my glider (I had it pegged to the ground and tied to the fence). I was watching as Ken was revving his engine about to takeoff. Ken began his takeoff run in light wind. Almost immediately I saw the streamer switch 135deg as the 20knot wind gust from the dry glory passed through. Ken and glider got thumped back down onto the ground. I sprint over to help Ken get the nose around into the wind. I look across to where my glider is and the glider has been blown around as is facing the full blast. A elderly gentlemen noticing the predicament is behind the glider trying to restrain it. Ken's kind of got control off his glider as I leave him and sprint back to my glider. No damage but from now on I'll leave my glider pegged until I'm ready to fly.
